River Remedy is a vertically integrated medical cannabis cultivator, processor and dispenser located in Byram, Mississippi. The nascent medical marijuana industry in Mississippi offers both unique challenges and opportunities for both public and private stakeholders. The EW team and several Else School of Management classes are working with River Remedy to identify customer segmentation strategies and assist with data visualization.

lower-costModular Housing is a startup focused on reinventing the way we imagine simple living. The business has created a foldable, stackable, and transportable prototype – currently under construction in Midtown Jackson. The product will target those looking for a lower cost, move-in-ready housing solution. The EW Modular Housing team focussed on developing a B2B marketing strategy for merchant builders or developers as well as a B2C marketing strategy for accessory dwellings. The team also assisted in the creation of a product name for the business, which will be introduced soon!

NOSH Specialty Foods is a local Jackson company that creates and delivers fully prepared, oven-ready artisanal dinners each week with a healthy focus on flavor and authenticity. After many years in the restaurant industry, and with a lifelong passion for fine food & entertaining, Chef Nick Couch’s vision for NOSH Specialty Foods is to meet the demands of a changing world and its customer’s busy lifestyles. NOSH is located in the Hatch--a business incubator in the Midtown neighborhood. The EW NOSH team worked with Chef Nick to analyze the competitive landscape and provide recommendations for product line, promotion, and website improvement.

Jackson Writer’s Collective is a new organization devoted to providing low-cost resources to aspiring writers. Featuring writing workshops, gathering spaces, and one-on-one assistance, Anthology seeks to add to the literary history that makes Mississippi unique. ELSEWORKS began working with its founders - Millsaps graduates - in late 2021 to develop a business plan. This project will continue well into 2022 and 2023.

The mosaic plans to be an interactive, outdoor, community-focused art park that will adjoin the Midtown Depot and Brix Rum Distillery, serving as a link between the two spaces. Offering a safe and interactive space for Midtown residents and those outside the community to come together. Midtown Mosaic will feature an expanisve green space for a children's playground, seating, shading, and murals and placards that highlight the past, present, and future direction of the neighborhood. This year, the ELSEWORKS team is working with Midtown Partners Inc. to establish the Midtown Mosaic as a nonprofit and planning for a benefit concert to kickstart fundraising for this project.

Magnolia Medical Foundation (MMF) is a community-based organization that provides preventive health services and capacity building to individuals and communities throughout Mississippi. MMF’s vision is to serve as a quality and assurance resource that addresses the social and environmental determinants of health. MMF strives to provide excellent customer relations, top-tier and compassionate services, and a cost-effective preventive health plan that will improve health outcomes and ultimately begin “Building Bridges to a Better Quality of Life.” Magnolia Medical has 5 offices, including one in Midtown on Fortification Street. The MMF team is rebulding the website on a new and more user-friendly platorm.
